  • J. Rodney Blanton, MD

    J. Rodney Blanton, MD is a native of Canton, Georgia and received his undergraduate degree at UGA. After graduating from the Medical College of Georgia in 1972 he did a rotating Internship at the Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia. Dr. Blanton returned to Emory University School of Medicine and completed a Family Medicine Residency in 1999. He is Board Certified by the American Academy of Family Medicine. Dr. Blanton is on staff at Emory Eastside Medical Center where he has served as Chief of Medicine.

    In addition, he holds appointment as Associate Professor of medicine at Mercer School of Medicine and serves as a preceptor for Emory University Physician Assistant students. Dr. Blanton is an active member of the Georgia and American Association of Family Practice.

  • Tina-Ann Kerr Thompson, MD

    Tina-Ann Kerr Thompson, MD spent most of her life in Hartford, CT. She received her Bachelor of Science degree at Yale University. After graduating from Boston University School of Medicine, she completed the Emory Family Medicine Residency Program . She is Board Certified by the American Academy of Family Medicine. She is a member of the Georgia and American Association of Family Practice. She serves as a preceptor for medical students from Emory University and Mercer School of Medicine.

    Dr. Thompson married to Joseph Thompson, MD and together they have completed their family with a young son and daughter.

  • Joseph E. Thompson Jr., MD

    Joseph E. Thompson Jr., MD is a Decatur, Georgia native. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at Morehouse College and his Medical Degree at Morehouse School of Medicine. He completed a three year residency program in General Adult Psychiatry and a two year fellowship program in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Emory University. He is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

    Dr. Thompson provides a variety of psychiatric services, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and medication evaluation and management.

    Dr. Thompson is not formally affiliated with Rockbridge Family Medicine, but does maintain an office here and schedules his own patients. He can be reached at 404-931-2417.

  • Markebba S. Alford, PA-C

    Markebba S. Alford, PA-C is a native of Columbus, Georgia but has lived in the Atlanta area for most of her life. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia State University. She later complete her Physician Assistant training at South University in Savannah, Georgia.

    She is a member of the American and Georgia Academy of Physician Assistants. Markebba is also a founding member of the Georgia African American Midlevel Association. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her daughter.

  • Chris Knox, PA-C

    Chris Knox, PA-C earned her Master of Medical Science from Emory University's Physician Assistant Program in 2007. Chris will be doing nutrition and lifestyle counseling as well as treating patients. Chris has spent nine weeks as a student at Rockbridge Family Medicine. Chris has worked in emergency medicine, physical therapy, and personal training.

    In 1996 she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Davidson College in North Carolina, and then worked in college administration for several years. Chris loves the outdoors, especially running and hiking with her husband, John, and their dog, Winner.

  • Pat Pescitelli, Office Manager

    Pat Pescitelli joined our staff in April of 2007 as the Office Manager. Pat has worked in the medical field for more than 25 years. She assisted in the establishment of the Emory Spine Center, worked in the Emory Heart Center, and for the Gwinnett County Board of Education as a clinical worker for special needs children.

    Pat is very active in community service and is a certified First Responder. She loves spending time with her three grandchildren, traveling with friends, and doing interior design and decorating.

  • Armand Gabriele, L.M.T.

    Armand Gabriele specializes in medical and therapeutic massage, exercise therapy, and joints. Armand began studying massage therapy in 1986, and now holds a license in New Your and Georgia. Armand is excited to offer services to improve your health and wellness. Massage therapy benefits our everyday stressors and is a useful healing tool.
